Thanks to the new Sustainability Plan that directs improvements in both urban and rural areas, Portman will soon be an example in sustainable development and tourism.
The model, which is based on environmental, landscape and heritage values, has as objectives in the urban environment:
ACTIONS IN THE RESIDENTIAL FABRIC: This Sustainability Plan encourages the rehabilitation of existing homes in Portman. It seeks improvements in conservation, accessibility and energy efficiency.
IMPROVEMENTS OF PUBLIC SPACES: Revitalization, rehabilitation and improvement of the urban area and points of tourist interest to boost tourism, commerce and local hospitality.
During this year 2023, work has already begun in the Zone of the Environment of Charity, located in one of the areas with the most privileged views of Portman.
CHARITY HOSPITAL
In this former Charity Hospital, which currently houses the Portman Archaeological Museum, changes will be made to the street furniture, installation of waste separation systems integrated into the environment and planting of native and wooded gardens that will lead to shaded and picnic areas.
